Question from Mexico City
Epipen in Mexico
Where can I get an Epi-pen, for my seafood, and đ sting allergy? There has to be an alternative in Mexico, that Mexicans are using for life threatening allergies. Surely Mexicans with Shellfish, peanut allergies, and other harmful, life threatening allergies, arenât just walking around with nothing to save their lives, outside of an emergency room. What are physicians using in the emergency rooms to combat Anaphylaxis, from allergies? Perhaps thatâs what needs to be explored?
Claro epinephrine (epipenĂfra in Spanish) is a controlled substance in Mexico that can be administered by an anesthesiologist, most likely found in an emergency room situation. That's what the medical doctors at the clinic where I work have told me a few times. It's the case sometimes that these "common" medications in the English speaking world are tightly controlled here.
