Familial Dysbetalipoproteinemia in Mexico

Familial dysbetalipoproteinemia is an inherited disorder of lipid metabolism that causes abnormal levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke. It results from defects in how the body processes and clears certain fat-carrying proteins called lipoproteins.
