Von Gierke Disease is a rare inherited metabolic disorder caused by a deficiency of the enzyme glucose-6-phosphatase, leading to severe hypoglycemia, lactic acidosis, and hepatomegaly. It is the most common glycogen storage disease and requires lifelong management of blood glucose levels and metabolic complications.
