Wegener's granulomatosis, now called granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), is an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation of blood vessels in the lungs, kidneys, and upper respiratory tract. It requires treatment with immunosuppressive medications to control the inflammatory process and prevent organ damage.
