We now have transcranial magnetic stimulation available, which is indicated, among other things, for the treatment of medication-resistant depressive disorders. This is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic fields without the need for anesthesia. Before starting treatment, medical staff will conduct an extensive evaluation of your case to determine if you are a candidate for this type of management. If so, the psychiatrist will indicate the start of care with the magnetic stimulator. Generally, the protocol consists of approximately 20 sessions before expected results can be observed.
