In *Minorista* there's a large section of herbs and leaves used for medicine off to the right after going in the main entrance.

I've never been to Plaza Minorista, but I've been planning to go. Are the fruits and vegetables there fresher and cheaper?

Oh yes. Notably so. I highly recommend the real cities fruit tour. it lasts a couple of hours and they really help you find your way around that maze and introduce you to the vendors that you can count on for fair prices and quality. i'm not affiliated, I'm not promoting for any other reason that I've taken that tour twice now and it's been really helpful. they also help you with logistics because that area can be sketchy. There's also Mayorista in Itagui near the Metro station.
